Absentee/Specimen Ballot Information - September 14, 2010 Election
Massachusetts will hold a biennial state primary on September 14, 2010. Partisan candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, Representative in Congress and other statewide and Middlesex First District offices will be on the primary ballot. Absentee ballots are now available, and specimen ballots are available here.
The primary election chooses candidates for each political party. The party winners of the primary election will then run in the general election against the other parties. The General Election will be held November 2, 2010.
There will be primary ballots for the Republican, Democrat and Libertarian parties. Only voters registered in a political party holding a primary, or "unenrolled", are eligible to vote in a primary election. If one is registered in a political party (i.e. Republican, Democrat or Libertarian), one is entitled to vote in that party’s primary, only. If one is registered as “unenrolled” (independent), the voter may chose the primary ballot of any of the parties.
Please contact the Town Clerk at 978-448-1100 or townclerk@townofgroton.org if you have any questions.
